Description:

*I'm going to start hosting this swap every month instead of every other month to see how it goes. If you haven't received something from the previous round once the new round has been posted, you'll have to sit that round out.

*Please note: make sure to send your journal in a quality envelope, such as ones made of kraft paper. If you just have a regular envelope, please use packing tape to make the envelope a little more secure - wrapping the envelope once around the length and width. Please don't use envelopes made of thin paper. Also, instead of a paper envelope, consider using plastic mailing envelopes for added protection from possible water damage.

Hi everyone! Welcome to the series, ⭐️Sisterhood of the Traveling Journal International!⭐️ I took over hosting this swap from Kc055042; wording and instructions have been reused, with a few changes.

If you love making art journals, junk journals, paper crafts, journaling in general, swapping, and making pen friends, then this is the swap for you!

What to do:

 - Starting a new journal

If you would like to start a new journal, make sure to choose a non-spiral journal. Keep in mind the size as you do not want your partners to have to pay a lot for shipping. Medium sized journals work well for these swaps. You can buy one or make your own. Try to choose one that is approximately 5 x 7 inches. Larger journals like a composition notebook are too big. And it should have a soft cover rather than a hard one. Your journal should have around 30 sheets (60 pages, front & back). You don't want it so be too thick.

Decorate the front and back cover if you wish. On the inside of the cover, include the swap name (⭐️Sisterhood of the Traveling Journal International #15⭐️), your Swap Bot username, your address, and anything else you’d like. Also consider including your email in the event that you move so the last person to sign your journal can confirm your address.

Next, in the first few pages, tell us a bit about yourself or really just write about anything!. You can also decorate your pages with paper crafts, designs, doodles, however you would like, but make sure to fill it up! This is all you so if you would like to make it an art journal, junk journal, or more of a writing journal (with stories, poems, quotes, recipes, what your interested in) etc. definitely do so! Feel free to add a theme for your journal that you'd like each entrant to follow. You can also list things you enjoy to give everyone an idea of things they could incorporate into their entry. Or you could list a few questions you'd like everyone to answer.

Finally, after creating the journal, you will send to your partner. Please make sure to send your journal in a quality envelope, such as ones made of kraft paper. If you just have a regular envelope, please use packing tape to make the envelope a little more secure - wrapping the envelope around the length and width. Please don't use envelopes made of thin paper. Also consider using plastic mailing envelopes for added protection from possible water damage.

 - If you already have a journal

If you already have a journal you would like to use, you can do so. Simply add a few pages to the journal and send it to your partner. Write about yourself, include things like a poem or quotes, or get creative if you'd like. If there's a theme to the journal you have try to stick to that theme.

 - After receiving a journal from your partner

When you receive a journal and have added to it, HOLD ON to it for dear life until the next swap comes around. Join the next round of ⭐️Sisterhood of the Traveling Journal Int'l⭐️, add a 2-page spread to the journal and send it to your partner. You can add up to 4 pages, but please no more than that. It's okay to add your entry on the front and back of each page. Fill the page with things about you or try to get creative/artistic with your entry. If the journal you receive has a theme, try to stick to the theme. You can add little gifts for the owner of the journal as well! Simply make sure to label it as “For: ‘journal’s owner’” so that anyone else who gets the notebook knows they are not freebies for everyone to take.

 - Tips:

Make sure the crafts are sturdy and will not come off. Washi tape, for example, tends to after some time. Packaging tape helps with this. In addition, try to use flat embellishments so the journal doesn't become too thick.

 - Important:

JOIN FUTURE SWAPS: To avoid lost journals and keep a consistent flow, it is important that you join future swaps. If you don't want to participate in future rounds, please let me know.

Do not forget to date each entry! This really adds a lot to the journal and its nice to look back at the pages knowing when it was written.

Please make sure you can send your package. It is really upsetting when someone, as well as a group of people, have spent so much time creating and adding to something just to have it never sent back to them. Please ensure you can pay for postage and that you will be able to join future swaps. If you are not able to participate anymore, please message the owner of the journal and try to send their notebook back when possible.

Due to the random nature of how partners are assigned, you may receive a journal you have already added to before. Or you may receive your own journal. If that happens, feel free to add another entry to it.

Rate a 5 once you received the swap and a ❤️ If it was extra special.

New rule: I am going to start sending journals home to their owners if they are no longer active in this series of swaps. If I receive your journal and you haven't been active in this series of swaps for 6 months or longer, I will send your journal back to you. I don't think it's fair that you get to have your journal circulating if you are no longer participating in this series. The only journals that should be circulating are ones that belong to people who are active in the swaps. If I send your journal back to you, you're welcome to rejoin the series at any time if you'd like to have your journal start circulating again. In the event that I send a journal back to someone is no longer participating in these swaps, I'll give my partner the option of either making a journal for themselves to send in the next round if they'd like to or I'll make a journal for myself to send them.

 - Requirements:

10 or more Type 3 swaps. There is no rating requirement. All I ask is that you are a well established user with a well filled out profile and no recent or unresolved 1s or 3s. I will ban anyone who looks sketchy or who does not meet the requirements. If you have any questions about your eligibility in joining this swap, send me a message and I can help!

If you have any questions, feel free to send me a message! I don't always check for comments so you're better off sending me a message if you have questions.
