Believe it or not, it's been over 5 years since COVID-19 was declared a pandemic and lockdowns began. Regardless of our opinions on how it was handled, it has undoubtedly impacted all of our lives since. I know I feel it living in a major US city -- the tension was part of a perfect storm that led to some of the craziest riots I've seen happen in my lifetime (after the death of George Floyd). With political tensions feeling similarly high, I thought this would be a good time to reflect on the year 2020. Not your political opinions, but what it was actually like for you. What were the COVID restrictions? Were they enforced? Did people in your area take them seriously? Did you or anyone you know get sick? Did it impact your school, work, family? How did that change over time? How did everything make you feel? Think of this letter a bit like an autobiographical narrative. With any luck, you'll be providing your partner a window into a stranger's experience at a time that will go down in history as "trying," to say the least. Open internationally. Newbies with well filled profiles allowed. Will angel. Message me directly with any questions! |
