🌿 If I Were a Magical Being…

I’d be a friendly forest fae with dirt on my hands, books on my shelves, and a teapot that never runs dry. ✨

In this non-fae life, I’m an INFJ who adores closed-door fantasy and medieval historical fiction, drinks tea like it’s the official beverage of this realm, and doodles bits of whimsy between garden blooms — because some magic is real. 🌱

An Alaska Grown country girl turned small-town Southerner, I’ve just started my fourth decade, married to my longtime best friend, and raising two red-headed, fairy children who keep our days sparkling (and a little wild).

💌 Snail mail is one of my favorite kinds of magic — a way to send sunshine, one swap at a time.

I try to steal as many reading moments as I can from the adventure called adulting. I primarily read low or no spice, closed-door books, and I love stories with high stakes and complicated plots. I want a happily ever after, but I’m okay if it hurts along the way. I currently only read eBooks due to space.

My magic power? Being a Goodreads Librarian, cataloging stories as if by spellwork.

I drink a lot of tea 🍵 — savoring it like it’s the official beverage of this realm. I love trying new varieties from every corner of the world 🌍, especially green, white, black, and gentle herbal blends. There’s not a tea I won’t try — savory teas included, like genmaicha 🍚.

There are a few teas I politely avoid ❌:
- Celestial Seasonings
- Hibiscus-heavy blends 🌺
- Rosehip-heavy blends 🌹
- Stevia (allergy!)
- Fennel or fenugreek in non-medicinal teas 🌿

I’ve spent most of my life quietly creating art, never confident enough to share. My little creations reflect my love of nature and whimsy, because art isn’t about being perfect; it’s about creating. 🎨✨

Some of the ways I play with art:
- Pencil drawings with ink outlines: my favorite way to capture detail and whimsy ✏️🖊️
- Watercolor: soft, flexible, and full of surprises 🌈
- Paper crafting: junk journals, washi, stickers, origami paper, and repurposed bits all find a new life 📜✂️
- Stickers: a childhood favorite I never outgrew 🏷️

I adore all things woodland, fairy (but not Victorian), garden, and ocean 🌿🧚‍♀️🌊. Add books, fairytales, tea, coffee, and greens and purples, and I’m instantly happy 📚☕💜💚

I love filling my little lot with life and color through growbeds and containers. Some of my favorite things to grow:
- Herbs: especially interesting varieties of basil 🌿
- Peppers & Tomatoes: experimenting with new types each year 🌶🍅
- Zinnias: easy to grow and adored by birds and butterflies 🐦🦋
